Set-down spots worth knowing
Ennis has 14 free coach spaces at Friar's Walk, with a drop-off shelter about 100 metres from the town centre. Sligo County Council keeps a drop-off and collection facility for coaches on Markievicz Road. In Killarney, the East Avenue laybys are for bus set-down, and in Waterford, groups visiting Waterford Treasures step off on The Mall outside the Bishop's Palace.
How far from the airport?
Think about your arrival airport when you pick a base. Kerry Airport at Farranfore is 15 to 20 minutes from both Killarney and Tralee. Drogheda is around half an hour from Dublin Airport, and Bray about 40 to 50 minutes. Letterkenny is a different story: about three hours from Dublin Airport, so a Donegal holiday that starts in Dublin spends much of the first day on the road.

Can we spend a day across the border?
Yes, as a day trip. Belfast is about an hour and a quarter from Dundalk, and Derry around 35 minutes from Letterkenny.
Are there tolls to think about?
On some routes, yes, including the M1 near Drogheda, the Waterford City Bypass and the Limerick Tunnel. Any toll your route crosses is shown on the quote.
Are the drive times exact?
No. They are rough road times without stops, and busy roads stretch them.
