Cork Airport pick-ups for families and groups

Cork Airport has a single terminal, and the bays where group vehicles load are right out front. You'll step out of arrivals and find your minibus or coach a few metres away.

Bays C and D, straight outside

Hired minibuses and coaches use Bus Bay C or Bus Bay D, for collections and drop-offs alike. Both sit at the front of the terminal, where every bus and coach service comes and goes, so there's no trek to a distant car park with tired children and heavy cases.

The bays are shared, so a driver can't sit in one all afternoon. Give the operator your flight number and let them know straight away if you're diverted or cancelled. If your party is split across flights, the early arrivals will be more comfortable waiting indoors.

Into Cork city

Cork city centre is about 8 km away, a drive of roughly 20 to 30 minutes. Where are you staying? Groups often base themselves around St Patrick's Street in the centre, on MacCurtain Street near the station, or out in Douglas, Blackrock, Mahon or Little Island. If your flight home leaves early, there are hotels close to the airport too.

Worth knowing at Cork Airport

  • Scheduled buses take about 25 minutes to Parnell Place Bus Station in Cork city centre.
  • All bus and coach services arrive and depart from the front of the terminal building.

Your first day out

Cork makes gentle first-day trips easy. Blarney is about 20 minutes from the city, Midleton and its distillery about 25, and Kinsale about 30. Cobh, home of the Titanic Experience and the ferry to Spike Island, is 25 to 30 minutes.

Heading on to Kerry? Killarney is roughly 90 km, or about 1.5 hours, from Cork. Want a lunch or photo stop en route? Mention it up front, as it lengthens the driver's day.

Golf bags, buggies and bikes

A minibus carries luggage in a single rear compartment, and it fills quickly. Golf bags, buggies and bikes take far more space than a suitcase, so list them on your request. If the pile is big, the operator may suggest a midi coach, which has bays underneath.

Questions

Where do we find our minibus at Cork Airport?

How long is the drive into Cork city?

About 20 to 30 minutes for roughly 8 km.

Can we go straight from the airport to Kinsale or Killarney?

Yes, we can arrange that. Kinsale is about half an hour from the city and Killarney about an hour and a half.

How many people fit in a minibus?

Most minibuses seat 16 to 19. Parties of eight or fewer go by licensed hackney or limousine instead, and bigger groups move up to a midi coach of 29 to 35 seats.
