Waterford, the Greenway and the Copper Coast by Minibus

Waterford keeps its best-known sights within a few streets of the Suir, and the coast and the Greenway are close by. With a minibus and driver arranged through us, your group can spend the morning in museums and the afternoon by the sea.

The Mall and the Viking Triangle

The three Waterford Treasures museums, Reginald's Tower, the Bishop's Palace and the Medieval Museum, sit a few minutes' walk apart. Groups are advised to book, and the coach set-down is on The Mall outside the Bishop's Palace, which is where you'll be dropped.

The House of Waterford Crystal is on The Mall as well, so one set-down covers both. Coaches can park free at the Bolton Street car park, which also offers coach cleaning while you're inside.

On the Greenway, one way

The Waterford Greenway follows an old railway line to Dungarvan, about 45 minutes away by road. Your driver can leave you at one end and collect you at the other, which means no doubling back.

Bringing your own bikes? Say so when you ask for a quote. A minibus has a rear luggage compartment of about 2 cubic metres, so bikes may need a larger vehicle or a trailer if the operator offers one.

Beaches and harbour villages

Tramore is about 20 minutes away and the harbour village of Dunmore East about 25. Beyond Tramore to the west runs the Copper Coast, a UNESCO Global Geopark and lovely on a clear evening.

Flights, tolls and further trips

Flying in? Allow roughly 90 minutes from Cork Airport or two hours from Dublin Airport. Routes that use the N25 city bypass cross the tolled River Suir bridge.

Kilkenny is under an hour, which makes a good day out, and Cobh around an hour and a half. For an evening show at the Theatre Royal on The Mall, the driver can collect you at the door afterwards.

Where will the minibus leave us for the museums?

On The Mall, outside the Bishop's Palace. That is the set-down for Waterford Treasures, and the other museums are a short walk away.

We want to cycle the Greenway one way. Can we be picked up in Dungarvan?

Yes. Tell us your start point and roughly when you expect to finish, and the driver will be waiting at the other end.

Which airport is closer, Cork or Dublin?

Cork, at about 125 km and an hour and a half. Dublin Airport is about 170 km, roughly two hours.
