Golf trips without the driving
A golf trip is more fun when nobody has to drive to the first tee or home from the clubhouse. Four friends suit a people carrier; a society outing suits a minibus.
Plan around the bags
Golf bags are long, awkward and don't stack like cases. A V-Class people carrier holds up to 8 people including the driver, but its luggage room shrinks with every seat row in use, so four or five golfers with clubs usually travel more comfortably than seven.
For a society or a larger group, a minibus with a rear luggage compartment, or a midi coach with underfloor bays, gives the bags a space of their own. Let the operator know the number of golf bags and suitcases, and whether the travel covers are hard or soft.
One driver for the whole week
On a single occasional passenger trip, the weekly rest can be put off for as many as 12 back-to-back 24-hour periods. In practice, the same friendly face can stay with you for a trip lasting up to twelve days, provided a normal weekly rest comes first and two weekly rests, together at least 90 hours, follow.
The daily rules still apply, so after four and a half hours of driving there's a pause of 45 minutes or more. Lunch between two courses usually covers it.

Ryder Cup week at Adare Manor
Adare Manor in County Limerick hosts the 2027 Ryder Cup, and play runs from 17 to 19 September. Adare village is about 25 minutes from Limerick city, as is Shannon Airport via the N18, and Bunratty sits about 10 minutes from the airport. Rooms and vehicles will be in demand, so start planning early.
Early starts on the coast
Ballybunion is about 35 minutes from Tralee, and Killarney makes a good base for Kerry golf. Agree each morning's pickup before you travel, with extra time on the first day, when every bag is loaded for the first time.

Usually. On a single occasional trip, the driver can defer weekly rest for a tour of up to twelve days, as long as proper rest is taken before and after.

As soon as your plans are firm. Competition runs 17-19 September 2027, and the Limerick, Adare and Shannon area will be busy.
